What's it like to work with me?
Some therapists see themselves as the leader and expect you to follow their lead. This is not my approach. I view us as teammates working toward a shared set of goals–yours. You’ll share what’s important and I’ll provide insight and feedback along the way to help you reach those goals.
Even though therapy is a serious journey, my sessions consistently include laughter and fun. Life can be rough, but therapy doesn’t have to be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m committed to doing real and meaningful work with you, but I seldom pass up an opportunity to make you smile. I want to create a dynamic where you can be free, expressive, and prosperous, and my expressive personality opens up the door for you to be unapologetically yourself.
I believe honesty is an essential part of effective therapy, so I am committed to always being direct and keeping it real with you. There will be times I will challenge you, but I’ll also check in with you regularly to ensure our conversations are moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I also understand that you’re a busy, hard-working adult who plays many roles, so therapy may not be a long-term journey for you. Whether you’re seeking therapy to help with a minor concern, a major concern that needs immediate help, or just need support through a transitional period in your life, therapy doesn’t have to last years to be effective. As a solution-focused therapist, I believe concise therapy can still achieve monumental results.
My door is open and accepting to unique and diverse populations. Because everyone is different, transparency is necessary for me to best meet your needs.
Why I became a therapist
I became a therapist to become a part of the change I wanted to see in the world. When I was growing up, mental health was not discussed or accepted in my community. I have always believed that seeking support for mental health concerns should not be frowned upon–and that people who are facing challenges should have a safe space to share their experiences, without judgment. As a therapist, I am committed to empowering and uplifting those who feel powerless or do not have supportive people in their lives. I know we all have the power to change and evolve. I want to help provide the tools for people to build their dream selves from the inside out, one person at a time.
Off the clock
I find home organization to be very relaxing. I love to clean and rearrange spaces. I also enjoy traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. And when I’m not away from home, I love being a dog-mom to my Yorkie.
You know you are better than what you’ve been through. Together, we will reveal a healthier, loving version of yourself and put you on track toward reaching your full potential.
